About this tool

Codes are generated in your browser by the open-source qrcode library. Many “free” QR services create dynamic codes that redirect through their own servers and stop working when a trial ends. A static code avoids that dependency entirely.

Use SVG for print, because it stays sharp at any size, and PNG for documents and websites. Keep the margin: the QR specification asks for a quiet zone four modules wide around the code.

Known limitations

  • Codes are static. To change the destination after printing, you need a new code.
  • No scan statistics: nothing is tracked, because the code points directly to your content.
  • Long content makes dense codes that are harder to scan. The tool warns you when the content is long.
  • Low-contrast color combinations may not scan. The tool warns when contrast is too low.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is encoded directly in the pattern, so the code works for as long as the destination exists. There is no redirect through this site.

Which error correction level should I choose?

M (about 15% recovery) suits most uses. Choose Q or H for outdoor print or surfaces that may get damaged. Higher levels make the code denser.

Can I use these codes commercially?

Yes. The codes are yours. “QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED, which allows the use of the technology without a license fee.
